The 2026 “Film Projects to Be Produced with State Support” competition, held by the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARKA) under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has concluded.

The 31 projects that took part in the pitching stage were assessed by the Expert Council for the Evaluation of the Content of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Digital Works under the Ministry of Culture. Based on the Expert Council’s decision, 18 projects have qualified for production support. Funding totalling AZN 2,763,861 is earmarked for allocation to the winning projects on the basis of the cost ceiling tables they submitted.

At the next stage, the final budgets of the projects will be approved on the basis of the cost ceiling tables, after which contracts will be signed between the parties in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Public Procurement.

In addition, five projects have earned the right to enter the pitching stage of next year’s competition directly: “Meşə növbətçisi” (“The Forest Ranger”, CNF, feature film), “Bir, iki, üç” (“One, Two, Three”, Nova Gorica Film Centre, feature film), “İkimiz” (“The Two of Us”, Karvan Production, short film), “Rüzgarın melodiyası” (“Melody of the Wind”, Navis, short film) and “Yuyunma – Bu bir film deyil” (“Washing – This Is Not a Film”, Navis, documentary). These projects will be further developed with the participation of the Artistic Quality Control Commission.
