The Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARKA), operating under the Ministry of Culture, established the Alternative Cinema Academy to support young cinematographers.

The curatorship of the project was entrusted to the well-known film director, Honored Art Worker Elkhan Jafarov by the order of Orkhan Fikretoglu, the head of the Film Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On April 3, the first event of the Alternative Cinema Academy took place in the "Nizami" cinema. At the event, 7 out of 16 students' projects presented to ARKA from Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts were presented.

In the presentation held with the participation of Elkhan Jafarov and ARKA employees, Khayal Rza's "Salam to God", Shirin Ahmadov's "32nd Day of Suraiya", Mirhafiz Hasanov's "The Uninvited Guest", Mohammad Mammadov's "I'm Back", Elmar Farzaliyev's "Fallen Angel", Araz Guliyev's " Second Breath" and Mirzahid Aghayev's "Inam" projects were shown.

Khayal Reza's short feature film "Salam to Allah" tells the story of a veteran who lost both legs in the First Karabakh War. After the news of the glorious victory in the Second Karabakh War, the veteran played by the people's artist Mammad Safa visits his feet buried in the cemetery and lies down and unites himself with his "legs". According to the head of Lahiya, filming has already started.

"The 32nd Day of Suraiya" project, written by Shirin Ahmadov, is also a bad movie. The film is about people's belief in things they see or don't see. Thus, the Second Karabakh War takes Suraiya back to his childhood, to the wounds he thought he had forgotten. What bothers him the most are the horses that were at his door when he was a child. Thinking about the future fate of the horse does not give him comfort. As the film progresses, it becomes clear both to Suraiya and to her friends who do not leave her alone, that the horse is only a pleasant consolation for the little girl, if she meets her horse, focusing on her great longing for the Motherland, leaving all her traumas behind.

The summary of Mirhafiz Hasanov's short feature film "The Uninvited Guest" is that 4 friends celebrating their birthday in one of the cafes receive 3 wish-fulfilling, magical and blushing goldfish... The events continue in a funny way. The idea of ​​the film is that when people are in a difficult situation, they lose their eyes, lose their values ​​and think only of themselves.

"Gaytdim" project by Mahammad Mammadov is a short feature drama. The content of the film is that a mother living in a remote mountain village is longing for her son, who has gone to war.

One day, a lonely child appears in front of him. The mother takes the child under her care and takes care of him as her own son.

In a dream, a woman receives the good news from her son that he will return, but contrary to her dream, the next day, the mother receives bad news and is told that her son has been martyred.

After that, the only consolation left for the woman is the child she has taken under her care.

Finally, 30 years later, the child raised by the woman goes to war to avenge his foster mother and brother.

Well-known actress Guljahan Salamova will play the role of mother in the film.

Elmar Farzaliyev's short film "Fallen Angel" is about a man who makes a living by collecting and selling metal drinking containers.

Araz Guliyev's "Second Breath" project was a documentary film. The documentary intended for viewers (8+) talks about the recycling of household waste, which ensures our environmental safety.

In our ever-changing world, the increase in the number of people increases our need for food and other things. But these needs turn into disaster without our own hands. We release the products we use as waste into the seas, rivers and air. Human dumping of waste into the environment has a negative impact on human health and our economy. It makes our world hell. Fish die from the waste thrown into the seas, and the ozone layer is depleted due to the waste released into the air. There is always a way out.

In the film "Which products are suitable for consumption during processing?" "What are the rules for recycling products?" and answers to such questions are sought.

Mirzahid Aghayev's "Inam" project is also a feature film in the drama genre.

Thus, Taleh, who grew up in an orphanage until the age of twelve, struggles to find his own family after many years, despite his stepfather's efforts, and believes that he will succeed. This belief helps him to achieve his goal.

It should be noted that the main goal of creating the Alternative Cinema Academy is to encourage student cinematographers to creative activities, to create new content in cinema, and to carry out work to convey national and moral values ​​abroad through cinema. Also, in order to achieve the set goals, ARKA intends to improve administrative and creative issues, promote participation in local and international festivals, increase the quality of content, analyze global cinema trends, create modern local cinema trends, and apply promptness in documentation processes.
